Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What does a session look like?
No two sessions are alike! Yoga + Therapy often begins a lot like talk therapy sessions do, sharing an event or emotional state that they’d like to process. The difference in Yoga+Therapy is that while you share your thoughts and feelings, I will guide to notice body sensations you may be experiencing as you share. From there, we will practice body-based skills to explore and process emotions further. Some of these skills include:
Asanas (Yoga postures)
And much more!
What do I need to wear for a Yoga+Therapy session?
Wear something that you find comfortable. Yoga clothing is not needed but being prepared for gentle/light movement is suggested!
Is this like a normal yoga class?
No, this is not like a traditional yoga class. Our work together is not exercise or about fitness, instead, we use the body to gain awareness of your emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns.
Do I need to have Yoga experience?
No, you do not need to have any yoga experience. Our work will be focused more on you recognizing sensations and emotions that present in your body and engaging in gentle yoga to further that exploration.
